| Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser - £4.27 at Boots (Simple is currently on a 3 for 2 as well!) |
As someone who suffers from some pretty mean bouts of acne I HATE my oily skin. The shine is one thing, but knowing what that pesky excess oil leads too is a different kettle of fish (HA - fish, oil. Geddit?). If you follow me on Twitter you'll probably know that I'm constantly tweeting for skin care recommendations for us oilies.
For a couple of months now I've been pasting my ugly mug with this 'Oil Balancing Moisturiser' from Simple's 'Clear Skin' range that claims to control shine and have natural antibacterial properties, whilst also being suitable for sensitive skin (as is expected from Simple.)
I find it gives just enough moisture to the less oily parts of my face whilst controlling the oil on my t-zone and chin. I do still get excess oil but it is definitely minimised with this - any products I've had that completely eradicated oil were very heavy and seemed to work solely by blocking your pores, so I'm happy to meet half way with this.
My slightly sensitive skin was perfectly happy and I experienced no unusual breakouts or dryness whilst trying this. I should also give the poor thing some credit by adding that I've been trialling this during harsh our North England winter so my skin has taken some serious beating from the elements.
One final comment before I bore you all to an oil-free death - the first couple of uses left me feeling a bit 'meh' and wondering whether this actually did anything, but after a few days that's when I began to notice a difference so don't give up.
What do you use for oily skin? Recommendations are always welcome, Samwich Box is a very oily place!
I have been using simple makeupwipes since forever great if you have sensitive skin x great blog

Such an amazing brand, I definitely recommend it if oil is troubling your skin :-)
DeleteI don't actually love the Simple range that much, or at least the products I have tried I think my skin reacted to it badly :( However I may have a look at this as I am after something to help my skin :)

They can be amazing at times but certain products have really let me down! Definitely worth a go, maybe wait until they have a really good offer on if you're apprehensive :-)
DeleteI am a slight 'Simple' addict, face wipes, cleanser, moisturiser, eye make up remover, eye roll on, toner, anything simple, I own .. except this.. until now.. my moisturiser is very close to running out, and I may just have to give this one a go :)

ReplyDeleteHave you tried Avene products, they are really natural and gentle, which is always the best even when you're skin is oily/spot prone. Have you read the green beauty bible? You can get it on amazon, it has loads of advice on different skin types, products and they also have their own recipes too.

Aw thank you - you have no idea how much that means to me! :-D
