| Schwarzkopf got2b Powder'ful Volumizing Styling Powder - £2.57 at Boots |
So, on my never ending journey for a root boosting miracle I encountered this little treasure.
You sprinkle a small amount into the palm of your hands, leaving you with what looks like talc. Then, you rub your palms together so that the product disappears - this can be alarming, but don't add more, just roll with it! Next, rub it into your roots in whatever fashion you think will get you your desired look and voila - your roots have volume. Alternatively, you can sprinkle sparingly directly onto the roots if you prefer, but I find this to be slightly less effective.
At the end of the day when this has worn off or been brushed out, a sticky residue is sometimes left behind which can be pretty icky if you're not one for washing your hair daily, but my haphazard ways and far-from-elegant hands might mean I've been using too much...just something to bare in mind!
No overpowering scent, no irritation to my sensitive scalp and no other nastiness. Just boosted roots with fairly good hold (a spritz of hairspray helps prolong this) for that ruffled, voluminous look. Fabulous.
I also have it on good authority from a boy I know that the more 'masculine' version (which I believe is in a green container?) is also brilliant for messy, shorter hair!
Have you tried this?

ah i have hair like that too - not thick just lots of it! this product sounds perfect :) ox
ReplyDeleteAnnoying isn't it?! Definitely worth a go if you have flat roots - does the job brilliantly!
DeleteI think I'll stay away from this, I'm not one for washing my hair daily as it's such a mop, haha!

Oh God I agree, I avoid daily washing as it turns into such a frizz ball! Haha
DeleteI have this, I love it! I wash my hair daily so have no problems with the residue at the end of the day xxx
ReplyDeleteFab stuff isn't it! Perfect for you then :-)
DeleteI've tried this and I am also a massive fan, my hair is very thick and the strands are quite coarse so naturally my hair has alot of volume, but because it is quite long the roots often don't boost up.
ReplyDeletemy only bug bear is that it can be quite drying on your hair when over used- this doesnt put me off though and I just make sure my hair gets a weekly treatment :).
Poppy @ lets drive far away x
Yeah that's something I should have mentioned actually, I forgot it sometimes dried my hair a bit! Yeah I'm a conditioner/hair oil obsessive so it's no issue for me either :-)

You should! It's such good stuff, and some equivalents on the market are so much more expensive :-)
DeleteWow, what a bargain, all other products along the lines of these are like £6+.
ReplyDeleteI shall have to give it a try, I've just had my hair cut back short and am always looking for ways to volumise it.
Thanks for sending me your link via the #bbloggers chat on Sunday, following you now :)
